Reading

This term we are having so much fun with our learning and are making sure that reading is an important part of our day everyday.

Each morning, just before recess we practise by reading our class books to our partners.

We are also very lucky to have some wonderful mums come and read with us. We know how hard it is for our mums and dads to find some time to get away from work or home so we are lucky that we have found some patient mums who listen to us read every morning.

Shared reading is something that we love to do. Each week we read a different big book and then work on different activities relating to that book. Some of the books we have read are:-

  

 

We would love to tell you about these books. Some have made us laugh, some are silly and others are just fun to read. I wonder what questions you could ask me about these books during dinner tonight, or even after dinner?? 

WRITING

Every day our writing just gets better and better. We are becoming more creative and independent. We are having a go and trying our best. Every day we write something new. Sometimes we write about our sight words, sometimes about he big book that we are reading in class. Other times we write about our Inquiry topic and what we did on the weekend.  Today we wrote about the people or things that we belong to.

                     

We have also begun to learn how to write a recount and what a recount is. Maybe we can create an oral recount during dinner. We could recount our day at school and mum and dad, you can recount your day at work or home????
